Abstract
Taxes are one of the main sources of income and provide the largest contribution in the APBN. Lack of knowledge about taxation is a major problem in Indonesia. The number of non-employee personal taxpayers is around 2,452,652 and there are only 993,754 who report tax returns. Based on these data, non-employee taxpayer compliance is still low, only around 40%. This study aims to determine the effect of age, gender, education level, and income level on the knowledge of non-employee taxpayers in Indonesia. Tax knowledge data was taken using a questionnaire with a total of 14 questions. The population of this study were all non-employee taxpayers in Indonesia. This study succeeded in gathering 71 respondents with a purposive sampling method. The analysis technique in this study uses multiple linear regression test. Based on the results of this study the results of the level of education and income levels have a positive effect on the knowledge of non-employee taxpayers in Indonesia. Age has a negative effect on the knowledge of non-employee taxpayers in Indonesia. While gender does not affect the knowledge of non-employee taxpayers in Indonesia
