Abstract

Background: A total of 1,078 school-age adolescents in Yogyakarta delivered labor, of which
976 were pregnant out of wedlock. The city of Yogyakarta ranked first compared with 228 cases, and was announced as a teenager aged 15-19 years. For teenagers must equip
themselves with scientific knowledge about improving health so they can prevent negative things, control themselves, develop themselves and behave positively. One of the ways to increase knowledge is by using media such as audiovisual media.
Method: This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental approach to the pre test and post test design models. The overall population in this study amounted to 462 respondents.
Samples were taken using the simple random sampling method, with a total sample of 31 respondents obtained at each study location. The instrument in this study is a questionnaire created by the researcher. Data analysis used was univariate analysis, and bivariate analysis
(paired t-test and Wilcoxon test to determine the effect of audiovisual media on increasing knowledge, then Crucial Wallis test to determine differences in knowledge from each research group).
Results: There is an influence of audiovisual media on increasing knowledge about adolescent health in Karang Taruna (p = 0,000), youth groups in "X" high school (p = 0.002), youth groups in "Y" high school (p = 0.011) and there is knowledge about Karang Taruna adolescent health,
youth groups in "X" high school, and youth groups in "Y" high school (p = 0.011).
Conclusion: Audiovisual media influences the increase in knowledge about adolescent reproductive health, so it is hoped that this video can be used as a learning medium in schools and community groups to increase adolescent knowledge about adolescent reproductive health.
