Abstract
Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia in 2015 was still high, reaching
305 per 100,000 live births. In the Special Region of Yogyakarta in 2017 the maternal
mortality rate reached 80 per 100,000 live births and in the Yogyakarta City area the
achievement of the maternal mortality rate was still 104 per 100,000 live births. This
figure is far above the SDG's target (70 per 100,000 live births). The cause of MMR is the
high risk of pregnancy. Efforts to reduce maternal mortality rates need to be supported by
an increase in the coverage of family planning participation. In the city of Yogyakarta the
number of fertile couples in 2017 was 46,307, where those who participated in active
family planning were 34,831 (75.22%) and new family planning were 1,605 (3.47%). The
results of family data collection in 2018 946 of fertile couples in the city of Yogyakarta
using traditional contraception (natural). The research objective is to analyze the enabling
factors for the use of traditional contraception in the city of Yogyakarta.
