Abstract
Klitih is not uncommon to the society due to a large number of victims
caused by the crimes committed by groups of adolescents using sharp weapons.
Related to the case, profiling, other than to find the crime perpetrators, can also be
used to reduce the crime. The study discusses the process of profiling the klitih
perpetrators in the area of Yogyakarta Regional Police as well as exposing the
obstacles encountered by the profilers.
This study is aimed to investigate how the police analyze the profiling of the
perpetrators of klitih in the area of the Yogyakarta Regional Police.
This study employed qualitative method by investigating the social
phenomena and human problems. The type of this study is empirical normative
legal research that merges normative legal approach with various additional
empirical evidences.
This study reveals several profiles of the klitih perpetrators. They are tattoed
or pierced males and the acts are included as juvenile delinquency. Besides, they
committed the crime to show their identity, brought sharp weapons (sword, sickle,
blade, and iron stick), as well as choosing the victims randomly. The crime was
performed in a group and was usually carried out at night.
