Abstract

Marketing strategy is one of the methods that derived from the promotion
which is the function of promotion is to attract or persuade consumers or product
users to be interested in using the services or products offered. Promotion strategy
carried out by Instagram accounts of Muara Teweh Community to promote tourist
attractions in the city of Muara Teweh, North Barito district, Central Kalimantan
province and in collaboration with the Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports
department of North Barito Regency. The purpose of this study is to determine the use
of Instagram as online media to promote tourism potential and the effective use of
Instagram as a Promotion Strategy.
The method used by researcher in this study is a qualitative research method.
The location of the study is in the office of the Tourism Office of the city of Muara
Teweh located on Jl. Tumenggung Surapati, Malay Village, Central Teweh
Subdistrict, North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan Province postal code 73811
as well as at home Admin @ Instagram account and home researcher. The data
obtained from this study were collected from observations, interviews, and
documentation. The data analysis technique used by researcher is a qualitative data
analysis technique and was tested using the triangulation method of data sources by
comparing the results of interviews from representatives of the tourism department,
representatives of Instagram account @infomtw, @seputarmuarateweh,
@exploremtw, and several followers of the Instagram accounts as well as visitors to
the North Barito district tourist attractions.
The result of this study is the researcher can find out the effectiveness of using
Instagram media to promote tourist attractions in the city of Muara Teweh. This
promotion strategy is considered to run smoothly due to positive responses from
other Instagram users. The tourism office can easily find out the interests and input of
people who have visited the tourist sites.
