Abstract

Material. media, and learning sources are some aspects to support the successful of teaching learning process. However, in the real condition, the readiness of it especially for visually impaired students is still very rare. The aim of this paper is to describe the function of Braille text as media and learning sources for visually-impaired students. This research belongs to survey research. The researcher uses students from Mts Yaketunis Yogyakarta as the research subject. Then, analyze the data descriptively. The result of this research shows that Braille text: 1) is able to help the learner to understand various texts in English more quickly rather than only listen to their teacher in the classroom, and 2) help teachers to teach along with various methodology in the classroom.
