Abstract
This study aims determine the development of the digital economy
between two countries, namely Indonesia and China in the field of e-commerce.
The data used about the digital economic approach in the field of e-commerce
during 2015-2018. Then an analysis is carried out using the SWOT analysis
method approach to obtain an objective picture of the strengths and weaknesess
as well as obstacles and opportunities of each country.
The result of the study indicate the strength of Indonesia’s digital
economy based on increasing internet users and distributing statups with unicorn
status. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s weakneasses lie in slow telecomunications
infrastructure, then in formation technology that still lagging behind, minmal
ciber security, and inadequate human resources. On the other hand, Indonesia
has the opportunity to increase exports of MSME products, jobs in new fields,
and attract more investors to develop Indonesia’s digital economy. Related to the
growth of Indonesia’s digital economy, namely the minimalization o goods and
logistics distribution channels, the payment method has not been integrated, the
gateaway payment system has not been used and the tax rules for e-commerce ae
not cleare. While China’s strength lies in competitive human resources and the
number of enterpreneurs. China’s weaknesses is in the income budget between
urban and rural communities, as well as the number of imitation products made
in China issued, China has the opportunity to become the king of e-commerce in
the world with the number of internet users. But, China also h
