Abstract

Information is growing rapidly in this era of globalization, it’s requires a human to select and sort information clever as needed. One source of reliable information is the archive. Archives is a record of the existence of an institution's collective memory. Archives neat would be evidence of his achievements. Through archival institution's performance can be seen from time to time, whether the institution forward, the way place or even deterioration. College education to be one who carry out the mandate Tridharma college, namely education and teaching, research and community service. For the realization of the task performed by the college, the necessary resources complete, precise, accurate in storage. Therefore, the information becomes a critical part of the college community. In other words, any college can not be separated and are always associated with the archive. Both records are still in use or records that are not used, but still has to fixed values. University as an institution is in need of a large archives support is well managed so that the smoothness of activities can be created. This will affect the effectiveness and efficiency and increase productivity for the agency. While archival institutions are institutions established to preserve archival materials generated and received by the body corporate or person. Task of college archives is storing, processing, treating up to save / preserve valuable archives in order, good academic records, research, and other records that are not misused by irresponsible parties for personal gain. Archives not only have administrative dimension alone but has a value in the interest of law, science planning, and historical. From the archives time dimension has dimensions of past, present and future. We will not know the events that have occurred in the past without seeing heritage as a collective memory which records the identity, dignity, and the embodiment of the activity of an organization.
