Abstract
Human Hand Gesture in Fine Art Photography. Hand as part of the human body is often used as a
non-verbal communication tool and produces a variety of poses. Naturally, humans are accustomed
to using hands to communicate and when moving, hands form a particular gesture. Gesture is a
movement that aims to provide cues. Cue mentioned here is used to understand the mind of a person or
to communicate feelings. Every individual can communicate feelings and thoughts by hand. The method
in this creation was begun with the search of ideas and concepts, and it was followed by reference
studies and exploration, and ended with an execution. The photographs which were created here consist
of 5 categories, i.e. happy, sad, restless, angry, and religious. The selection of these five categories is
adequately representative for depicting the dynamics of human life. Hopefully, these photographs could
provide additional knowledge about the hand. Hands that are generally associated with day-to-day
roles were found to have a gesture that is worth a certain message behind the visual.
