Abstract

Shallots are one of the leading vegetable commodities that have been intensively cultivated by farmers for a long time. This vegetable commodity belongs to the group of non-substituted spices that function as food seasonings as well as ingredients for traditional medicines. Based on data from the Food and Agliculture Organization (FAO) in 2010-2014, Indonesia ranks fourth after New Zealand, France and the Netherlands, while in ASEAN Indonesia ranks first. Based on the average export volume of shallots and onions in 2009-2013, there are two exporting countries in ASEAN, namely Indonesia and Thailand. Indonesia's shallot export contribution is 90.05% or an average export of 10,770 tons while Thailand contributes 9.95% or an average export of 1,190 tons to the total export volume of ASEAN shallots and onions (Ministry of Agriculture, 2016). The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the production of shallots and to analyze the level of efficiency in shallot farming activities. The research location is in Parangtritis Village, Kretek District, Bantul Regency, considering that this location has the largest shallot production in Kretek District in 2017. The data used are quantitative data through multiple linear regression equation models and use primary data obtained by themselves by direct observation, apart from The primary data of this study also uses secondary data from BPS Yogyakarta, Parangtritis Village Office and several related sources. The dependent variable is Shallot Production (Y), the independent variable is Land Area (X1), Seeds (X2), NPK Fertilizer (X3), KCL Fertilizer (X4), Fungicides (X5), Insecticides (X6) and Labor (X7 ). The analytical tool to determine the effect of production factors using Eviews 9 software and to determine the level of efficiency using Price Efficiency Analysis by using a comparison between the marginal productivity value of each input (NPMxi) and the input price (Pxi).
