Abstract
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women and is the dominant cancer in Indonesia. Cancer treatments such as chemotherapy can have an impact on the patient's quality of life, both physically, psychologically and socially. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between these characteristics and the quality of life of breast cancer patients. This research is a descriptive study with a cross sectional study design. The patient's quality of life was measured using the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire. The sample of this study were breast cancer patients at RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang who had met the inclusion criteria. The data obtained were analyzed by using the Mann-Whitney and Kruskal Wallis statistical tests. From the results of the analysis of the characteristics of age, education, income, marital status, cancer stage and type of chemotherapy have a relationship to global health status, functional scale and symptom scale. Meanwhile, there is no significant relationship with the characteristics of work status (p> 0.05) on global health status, functional scale and symptom scale
