Abstract

The petroleum fuel crisis shows that Indonesia's fossil energy reserves are limited. It is necessary to develop renewable, environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative energy, one of which is bioethanol. One of the basic ingredients of making bioethanol is cellulose material such as mango skin (Mangifera indica). This study aims to determine the levels of mango bioethanol with the treatment of cellulase enzymes from Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger. This study is an experimental study with independent variables, namely the comparison of enzymes from Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger (1: 0, 0: 1, 1: 1, 2: 1, 1: 2, 3: 1, 1: 3) and the dependent variable reducing sugars and bioethanol levels. After treatment with enzymes followed by yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) at a dose of 0.05 grams with a fermentation time of 96 hours then measurement of reducing sugar levels using the DNS method, distillation, and measurement of bioethanol levels using Conway diffusion method. Based on the results of the study it was found that
bioethanol levels using enzymes from Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger as well as inoculation with yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) were highest at 8% in the comparison of T.reesei: A.niger 3: 1 and 1: 3.
