Abstract

ABSTRACT
The OW Deles Indah area is one of the tourist attractions in the Merapi Merbabu Menoreh biosphere reserve which is designated by UNESCO so it is important to maintain its ecosystem. Until now, the development of OW Deles Indah is still being carried out and has many impacts on the environment. One of the animals that is very sensitive to environmental changes is the butterfly. The existence of butterflies indicates that environmental conditions are still in a good category, so that changes in diversity and population density can be used as an indicator of environmental quality. Sampling of butterflies was carried out on 5 December 2021-5 January 2022 every Saturday and Sunday at 08.00 – 12.00 WIB followed by 13.00-15.00 WIB for 3 repetitions using the line transect method. The data were then analyzed using the Shannon-Wienner diversity index. Based on the Shannon-Wienner index, the diversity of butterflies in the Deles Indah Tourism Object area is categorized as moderate with an H value of 2.25. Based on the results of observations made, the diversity of butterflies in the Deles Indah Tourism Object area consists of 27 species, 18 genera and 5 families.
