Abstract

Cancer is still being the community health problem in the world and also becmo the cause of death. Cancer patients’ treatment may cause side effect and this side effect will influence patients’ quality of life. This study objective is to describe cancer patients’ quality of life in RSPAU dr. Suhardi Hardjolukito, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. We used EORTC-QLQ-C-30 as the instrument. Our study used cross sectional design, conducting from May to August 2022. The inclusion criteria were adult cancer patients who hospitalized in RSPAU dr.Suhardi Hardjolukito. There were 101 cancer patients participated in this study. The general health, physical function, role function, emotional function, cognitive function and social function had above 80% of value. The most severe symptom experienced by cancer patients was fatigue, pain and insomnia. The cancer patients in this study had negative impact, due to the cancer and its treatment. This negative impact may cause the deterioration of the quality of life. In the future, the hospital can use the quality of life data for the policy to increase the quality of care.
