Abstract

This reserach to imrove students skills of writing scientific paper on the subject or writing scientific paper in Indonesian Language and Literaure Education, Teacher Training and Education Faculty of the University of Ahmad Dahlan. The implementation of writing workshop has the goal to ease the students in developing ideas made in stages by making the design, the issues raised, as well as the form of the scientific writing development.
The subject of this classroom action research were the students talking writing scientific paper course in 2012/2013. This research focused on the issues related to the increasing of students research proposal writing skills through Writing Workshop. In this implementation, the data were obtained using the guidelines of observation, field notes, interview guides, questionnaires, and acting talking documentation. The data analysis results in the form of a quantitative score. The validity of the data was obtained through consultation with the collaborators and data triangulation.
The results showed that the implementation of writing workshop improved students writing skills, which is characterized by the improvement of the students activity in writing research proposals during the learning process and the achievement of learning outcomes in writing research proposals. This learning models was interesting, not monotonous, focusing on students in actively expressing ideas, improving students understanding towards learning models, and increasing students learning outcomes can be seen from the students research proposal in each cycle. Thus, students researach proposal writing skills can be improved through the application of writing workshop learning models in each cycle.
