Abstract
Children must get protection for the rights they have, even if the child is a child who commits a
crime, because children are assets of the nation that must be protected, children committing
criminal acts cannot be separated from the influence of their social environment, be it
parenting patterns, the environment community, and peers. Punishment will have a negative
impact on the mental development and development of children, so the state must be present to
provide protection for children, the state through Law number 11 of 2012 concerning the
Juvenile Criminal Justice System has opened up space to provide special protection to children
who commit crimes, In this law there is a settlement of criminal problems committed by
children with a restorative justice process. So, looking at these problems, the formulation of
the problem is, what is the sociological perspective on the protection of children who commit
criminal acts based on restorative justice? The research method is sociological juridical, to
see the truth and reality of the law that exists in society regarding the sociological perspective
of protecting children from criminal acts based on restorative justice. The results of the study
concluded that the existence of restorative justice contained in laws and regulations shows the
sociological influence of the restorative justice process, such as: social control, social services,
and accountability to victims and society
