Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of cyberbullying and moral disengagement among adolescent students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Sleman Yogyakarta and the relationship between moral disengagement and cyberbullying. This type of research is correlational quantitative, with the research subjects in the form of a sample of 152 students. Data collection tools in the form of a scale of cyberbullying and moral abandonment, which were collected through the google form. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and Spearman's rho correlation analysis. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that most of the Madrasah Aliyah Negeri students had done moral renunciation and cyberbullying. The results of the correlation analysis between moral abandonment and cyberbullying obtained a value of 0.322 with a significance value of 0.000 which means that there is a low and significant relationship between the two variables studied. However, moral abandonment and cyberbullying must be an important concern for educators in particular, because cyberbullying can be the cause of other and bigger negative behaviors. Therefore, it is necessary to have a special handler to prevent cyberbullying so that this behavior becomes less and does not even occur in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri students.
