Abstract

Background: Caring for the dead is fardu kifayah, meaning that if it is done by one person then the obligation is borne by everyone. In some areas, the care of corpses is only carried out by the elderly. While adolescents very rarely participate in the implementation of body care. Therefore, it is necessary to increase knowledge and skills in caring for the dead following the teachings of the Prophet, especially those listed in the Tarjih Muhammadiyah Association. This article describes the process and results of improving adolescent corpse care training knowledge and skills in Ploso Hamlet, Video Media. Wonolelo, Pleret, Bantul, and Yogyakarta. Method: His service partner is Karang Taruna Ploso Wonolelo Pleret Bantul. The number of participants was 38 young men and women. The training method is gathering and watching videos together, followed by discussions and body care practices. Result: The activity went very well; the participants followed closely and were enthusiastic. The interviews with participants after the implementation showed that they felt more confident in carrying out corpse care because they had direct experience with corpse care practices. There was an increase in the ability and skills to care for participants’ bodies. Conclusion: the participants felt confident caring for the corpse because they had tried directly through the media prepared in this devotion.
