Abstract
Thoughts of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan has been widely researched, but uncovering the philosophy of education and its implications on the epistemology of contemporary Islamic education, has not been found. This study aims to construct the educational philosophy of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and its implications for the epistemology ofcontemporary Islamic education. Using concept analysis research, the works of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and various related studies were used as primary and secondary sources, and analyzed by content analysis. This study found that the educational philosophy of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan attaches great importance to educational goals that are integral to learning materials and methods. The purpose of education is to be able to form virtuous, pious, broad-minded Muslims and master worldly knowledge. Islamic education material concerns morals, an-nafs and social. The learning method emphasizes example, question and answer, demonstration and dialogue. The philosophy of education is the direction in the epistemology of the construction and development of the Islamic education system in every paradigm, process, and direction of progress. The findings of this study have implications for the development of contemporary Islamic education epistemology for the advancement of the nation's civilization.
