Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara emotion focused
coping dan character strengths dengan flourishing. Populasi pada
penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah
Yogyakarta dengan jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 210 mahasiswa.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan metode kuantitatif yang menggunakan
tiga skala, yaitu flourishing, emotion focused coping dan character
strengths. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah teknik quota sampling
sedangkan analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear
berganda dengan menggunakan program SPSS 20.00 for Windows. Hasil
penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : 1) koefisien R=0,724 dengan Sig.
(p)=0,000 (p<0 xss=removed p)=0,515>0,05), maka hipotesis minor satu ditolak. Artinya, tidak
terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara emotion focused coping dengan
flourishing. 3) rx2y = 0,723, dengan Sig. (p)=0,000 (p&lt;0,01), maka hipotesis
minor kedua diterima. Artinya, terdapat hubungan yang sangat signifikan
antara character strengths dengan flourishing. Sumbangan efektif terbesar
adalah character strengths sebesar 51,18%. Berdasarkan penelitian yang
telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif
antara emotion focused coping dan character strengths dengan flourishing
pada mahasiswa kedokteran Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
