Abstract

The carousel line is a running line that is applied to the assembly process at PT XYZ. The application of the carousel line is expected to reduce processing time, increase operator performance, and increase production results. However, because this carousel line has just been implemented, there are still some obstacles that hinder the effectiveness of the line. The most obvious barrier is related to line balancing. Several workbench paths have different processing times in the carousel line, causing idle or waiting time. The idle process means that there is a waste of working time. There are several operators who stop working for a while. In order to achieve the effectiveness of the carousel line, it is necessary to analyze the factors that affect the imbalance of the line. The analysis was carried out using the help of fishbone diagrams, observations, and interviews. Several factors that cause an imbalance in the carousel line at PT XYZ are humans, machines, methods, materials, and the environment
