Abstract

Background: Data from the International Labor Organization (ILO) in 2018 stated that, according to ILO estimates, more than 1.8 million work-related deaths occur annually in the Asia and Pacific Region. In fact, two-thirds of work-related deaths in the world occur in Asia. Globally, more than 2.78 million people die each year from work-related accidents or diseases. If a person experiences, it will affect the quality of a person's sleep so that his work or activities can be disrupted which can result in a decrease in a person's performance at work with the appearance of symptoms of tired eyes, drowsiness, until he fall asleep. If working hours exceed normal working hours, things such as decreased work speed and health problems will be found. The aim is to determine the relationship between sleep quality and work duration with feelings of work fatigue in brick workers at UD Ardian in Godean.
Method: This type of analytic observational research with cross sectional approach. This research was conducted at UD Ardian Godean's brick molding in January 2023. A sample of 32 people used the Chi-Square test.
Results: Respondents had 17 people (53%) with poor sleep quality, 24 people (75%) had long working hours, 18 people (55%) had a feeling of heavy work fatigue. Based on bivariate analysis, it was found that there was a relationship between sleep quality and feelings of work fatigue (P value = 0.036) and there was no relationship between work duration and feelings of work fatigue (P value = 0.703).
Conclusion: There is a relationship between sleep quality and feelings of work fatigue in brick workers at UD Ardian Godean, Sleman Regency.
