Abstract
E-portfolio is one of the learning tools that has been applied for learning speaking, especially in the English Education Study Program, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. The students may have different experiences in developing e-portfolios in the classroom. This study explores students' experiences in the process of developing e- portfolios for learning speaking. This research used qualitative research design where the researcher described students’ experience. The subjects in this study were lecturer and students of Public Speaking Class. The research findings showed that in determining the goals of developing an e-portfolio, studentswere confused and thought when asked about their purposes in developing an e-portfolio in Public Speaking class. The lecturer chose Google Sites as thee-portfolio platform in the Public Speaking class. There are several advantages, obstacles, and benefits that studentsget in developing an Google Sites. In selecting e-portfolio content, some students find it easy to create content, materials, and assignments in Google Sites. However, some students find it difficult to create content, materials, and assignments on Google Sites. Before publishing Google Sites to an audience, studentsfirst checked from the writing, design, and suitability of class assignments. There are also several impacts felt by studentsafter publishing Google Sites, including regarding Google Docs and its obstacles. It is hoped that lecturers are strongly encouraged to take advantage of e-portfolio development in teaching speaking to support student learning experiences. The conclusion is that students’ experience in e-portfolio development was good.
