Abstract

This research is entitled Analysis of Woman Resistance of The Main
Character in Christine Clayfield's Novel No Fourth River. This study aims to reveal
the forms of woman resistance that exist in the main character of the novel No
Fourth River and to determine the impact obtained from woman resistance that has
been carried out by the main character in the novel.
This study uses liberal feminist theory from Naomi Wolf's perspective using
qualitative research methods. Data are collected from novels, journals, and books
in the form of words, sentences, and conversations. The researcher chose data
related to woman resistance in the main character. The data that has been collected
is analyzed based on Naomi Wolf's theory.
The results of this study show that Christine's female resistance has five
forms including desire, courage, independence, firmness, and hard work. Of the
five forms of resistance that brought Christine to the success she wanted and
brought significant social changes to her life. The impact gained from women's
resistance to Christine is in the form of self-confidence, social status, money, and
love
