Abstract

Background of the problem: the increase of high community needs for food provided outside the home, food products provided by large industries and individuals who are struggling with food supply businesses for the public interest (snacks and or food) must be guaranteed health and safety. Thus as a type of public service that provides food, a food seller is feared to have a high enough role to cause health problems or food borne diseases that he produces. Therefore, the quality of food produced, served and sold by food sellers is required to be able to meet health requirements such as location and building factors, sanitation facilities, equipment, good food processing and food handlers themselves.
Method: the type of this research is quantitative descriptive with a cross sectional approach. This research will be held around the north town square of Yogyakarta. The population of this research is all of the angkringan food sellers around the north town square of Yogyakarta in 2018 which are 27 sellers. The sample of this research is all of the angkringan food sellers around the north town square of Yogyakarta. The instruments used in this research is checklist form or observation form. The method used to analyze the data is used univariate analysis.
Result: the research showed that (1) the sanitation in angkringan food seller consisted of 4 indicators which are availability of clean water, garbage disposal, waste disposal, and washing facilities for eating equipment were classified as good and meet the standards. (2) The personal hygiene of food sellers is classified as good and meets the standards. Sellers do not suffer from infectious diseases, maintain hand hygiene, hair, nails, clothes, not while smoking, scratching limbs, not coughing or sneezing in the presence of snacks that are served and or without closing their mouths.
Conclusion: the sanitation and personal hygiene from angkringan food sellers around the north town square of Yogyakarta in 2018 is classified good enough.
