Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship
between hardiness with academic procrastination. The subjects in the
study were the core administrators of student level organizations at
Ahmad Dahlan University.
The research method uses quantitative methods. The data was
collected by academic hardiness scale and procrastination scale. The
sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data analyzed
method by using product moment correlation techniques.
The results show that the significant level 0,022 (p < 0,05) and
showed the correlation coefficient ( rxy ) of – 0,456. The hardiness
variable contributes 20,8% to academic procrastination. The result of the
categorization variables indicate that the majority of research subjects
60% have hardiness in the high category and 88% have academic
procrastination in the medium category.
The result of data analysis show that there is a negative correlation
between academic hardiness and academic procrastination. The higher a
hardiness, the lower academic procrastination and conversely the lower
hardiness, the higher academic procrastination behavior.
