Abstract

Breastfeeding can reduce the risk of acute infectionssuch as diarrhea, haemophilus influenza, meningitis, andurinary tract infections. WHO and UNICEF recommendexclusive breastfeeding for six months. The motivation toprovide exclusive breastfeeding can come from within theindividual or from outside the individual. Social support has abig role in the success of breastfeeding. Government also playsa role in providing social support to breastfeeding mothers aslisted in PP RI No. 33 of 2012 concerning the Provision ofExclusive Breastfeeding articles 3, 4 and 5. Regulations fororganizers of public facilities listed in PP RI No. 33 of 2012article 30. Special facilities for breastfeeding and/or milkingbreast milk is essential when travelling. The existence oflactation room is one of the factors that support theconvenience of traveling This study is a descriptive qualitativeresearch with case study as the research design It wasconducted in March-October 2018. There were severalresearch locations in this study namely Adi SutjiptoInternational Airport, Giwangan Terminal, Jombor Terminal,Yogyakarta Tugu Train Station and Lempuyangan TrainStation. The research subjects in each study location consistedof five people. The tools and instruments used in the study wereinterview guides, checklists, voice recorders and stationery.Data collection was carried out by interviewing the subject ofthe study as well as observations of the lactation room facilitiesat the research location. The results of the study were asfollows. Lempuyangan Station, Tugu Station, GiwanganTerminal, Jombor Terminal, and Adi Sutjipto InternationalAirport have provided lactation rooms. However, the facilitiesand infrastructure of lactation rooms in these locations werenot yet in accordance with the minimum standards of lactationspace.Provision of lactation rooms in the airport and the twostations were quite good. Meanwhile, the lactation room and itsfacilities in Giwangan Terminal and Jombor Terminal needs tobe improved.
