Abstract
In the world of education in schools good interpersonal communication between teachers and
students is needed so that relationships are created a deeper personal interrelation that enables the creation of a
process of delivering messages in a more maximal learning material. Interpersonal communication is
communication carried out by people directly so that the people involved in the communication can receive the
reaction or response of the person speaking directly both verbally and non-verbally because it is done face-to-
face. For children with special needs, the role of good communication between teachers and students is needed.
The teacher must be able to convey the message to students well. Teachers are also expected to continue to
strive to develop ways of interacting and communicating so that the messages delivered can be accepted and
understood by students with special needs. In addition, students with special needs also need help from teachers
to build self-confidence so that they are able to interact comfortably in society until later students are able to live
blending with other normal communities as self-limited individuals who can live alone without dependence on
help from parents or residents of the surrounding community. To help students belonging to children with
special needs, teachers must be able to demonstrate good communication skills.
