Abstract

Providing group guidance services by counseling teachers can help students develop their potential, including one's leadership attitude. This study aims to develop booklet service media in group guidance services to improve IPM leadership skills in junior high school students. The development method uses the 4D model, namely Define (Definition) by analyzing the needs and materials, Design (Design) by designing the booklet media and its contents, Development (Development) by perfecting the cover design, tidying up the contents of the booklet and completing the material based on expert advice/comments, Dissemination by testing student readability in the entire process of developing booklet media. The research instrument used questionnaires and structured interviews and data analysis used quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The subjects in this study were 20 members of IPM SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta. As a result, the research on the development of booklet media increased understanding of Muhammadiyah student association leadership from th e assessment of material experts, getting a score of 85.88 with a very appropriate predicate, media expert assessment getting a score of 80 with the appropriate predicate, assessment of service experts getting a score of 97.5 with a very appropriate predicate, students' readability test getting a score 88.76 predicated as very suitable. It is hoped that the research on the development of booklet media to increase the leadership of Muhammadiyah student associations can be an alternative for students to gain access to leadership education which can lead to good leadership development.
