Abstract

Penggunaan smartphone memiliki konsekuensi tersendiri, seperti timbulnya rasa cemas tidak dapat mengakses informasi melalui smartphone, merasa tidak terhubung dengan orang lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan korelasional antara fear of missing out dengan nomophobia pada siswa SMA di Kota Yogyakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian adalah 292 siswa yang mewakili keseluruhan populasi penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan No Mobile Phone Questionnaire (NMP-Q) dan skala fear of missing out sebagai alat ukur. Analisis pengujian hipotesis menggunakan teknik product moment dengan aplikasi IBM SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Product and Service Solution). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data antara fear of missing out dengan nomophobia, didapatkan hasil r sebesar 0,234 dengan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p<0,01). Maka, hasil analisis tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara fear of missing out dengan nomophobia pada siswa SMA di Kota Yogyakarta serta fear of missing out memberikan sumbangan efektif nomophobia sebesar 5,48%. Apabila semakin tinggi fear of missing out, semakin tinggi juga nomophobia yang dialami dan semakin rendah fear of missing out, semakin rendah juga nomophobia pada siswa SMA di Kota Yogyakarta.
