Abstract

This Paper aims to explore the principle of equality before the law in the
perspective of the prophet's hadits. As as state of law (rechtssaat) equalizing
every one in the sama position is one of the tools in upholding justice.
Prophet Muhammad as a leader in this time not only established the legal
basis for upholding justice, but also became a model (uswah) that should be
followed in his footsteps. How the Prophet Muhammad enforced justice by
placing everyone in an equal position before the law can be seen in the hadith
narrated by Bukhari. Wisdom is obtained not only from the lafadz hadith an�sich, looking at the historical context, and also the capacity of the Prophet as
a leader is also very necessary. Thus, so that the words of the Prophet (sunna)
which are part of Allah's revelation can continue to be pious and pious at the
time of wa eating (the living sunnah). The Prophet Muhammad not only
applied the principle of equality before the law to anyone, gave direct
guarantees and his own family as a stake. Thus, law enforces and rulers
should show their attitude in front of the people they lead.
